Location

La Ruina Habitada is located in the town of Porquera de los Infantes (Palencia), in the region of Valdivia, historically known for being the home of the parents of Pedro de Valdivia who discovered Chile.

A 2 km of Aguilar de Campo,  key in the itinerary of the Palencian Romanesque routes famous for its biscuit industry, and 30 minutes away from any of the beaches of Cantabria.

An area that stands out for its important historical heritage, especially for a series of Romanesque monuments like the Monastery of Santa María la Real, the Monastery of Santa María de Mave or the famous churches of Olleros de Pisuerga, Cillamayor or Villanueva de la Torre.

You can arrive to La Ruina Habitada by car, train (AVE Madrid-Palencia or ALVIA Madrid-Santander stop in Aguilar de Campoo, or plane (45 minutes from Santander’s Airport.)
